The Opuntia basilaris, Baby Rita prickly pear, continues to explode, while the second specimen continues to not. I put the larger specimen in the ground in the fall and by spring it had started to grow. While the smaller specimen lacks in initiative, though, it does not lack in color - which is much more intense than on the larger specimen (which is muted but as yellow as it seems in this shot)… and these are the days of our lives.
