Well, I’m a week behind due to the rain, but there are a quite a few changes in this, my 10th panorama of the year.

This morning I trimmed back all of the salvia, the remaining summer blooms on the Hesprealoe parviflora, the Texas Sage, and the Yucca.  I also cleaned up the mat of Crepe myrtle blooms forming around the retaining wall and finally removed the Mexican feather grass and Pampas grass that was growing where it shouldn’t have been.

I still have a number of cacti in bloom including several species of Mammillaria, as well as the Melocactus.  The fall stalks on the H. parviflora are always much shorter, but with the fading green and “grayness” of fall, the blooms seem to stand out that much more.  The lawn, well, is nearly to its winter form …
